"The Reverend Dr. William E. Flippin, Sr., B.A., M. Div., D. Min., is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. Currently, he faithfully serves as Senior Pastor of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Since 1990, Pastor Flippin has led The Greater Piney Grove to a unique sense of mission and outreach.

Dr. Flippin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Business Administration from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, Dr. Flippin holds a Master of Divinity (Cum Laude) from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While in seminary, he was a scholar for the Benjamin E. Mays Fellowship and The Fund for Theological Education. Dr. Flippin has a Doctorate of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Flippin is currently a Certified Life Transformational Coach and a Certified Leadership Coach Trainer where his main objective is to Raise Leaders.

Dr. Flippin also serves as the founder and CEO of The Flippin Legacy Ministries, Inc.; The Pearl Initiative, Inc. (Non-Profit); and Pearls of Great Price Ministries, Inc (For-Profit).

Dr. William E. Flippin, Sr. is also a proud LIFE member of the distinguished Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Dr. Flippin has been married for forty years to the former Sylvia Taylor, who is a retired instructional coach for the DeKalb County School System. Mrs. Flippin is a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and holds a Master's degree in Education from Georgia State University. Dr. and Mrs. Flippin are the proud parents of three sons who continue the family legacy of preaching, Rev. William E. Flippin, Jr. (Kedra), Rev. Dr. Richard C. Flippin and Rev. Joseph C. T. Flippin (Kendall); and one daughter, Miss Sylvia Joi, who is a college student at Alcorn State University in Alcorn, Mississippi."

"My personal journey has allowed me as a life coach, minister and writer to take my experiences, education and background to coach others walking along a dark path to keep going. Every morning that I woke up I was unhappy and felt unfulfilled. Eventually I decided I was going to find out what it would take for me to have a happier, balanced and more enjoyable life. Each step that I took, my life was changing, my potentials were greater and dreams became real as I transitioned in midlife. I did not take my eyes off the path that I walked. I kept walking and never found myself stuck in the darkness of crisis. Setting goals and creating a recipe to reinvent myself became my mission.

I mastered the art of moving beyond my obstacles when I came face to face with the giant of destruction seeking healing, capturing happiness and maintaining harmony in the midlife process. My personal journey during midlife include; divorce, single parenting, caretaker for ill/aging parents, death of parents, empty-nester syndrome, career change, educational pursuits, chronic illness, remarriage, blended family and retirement after 29 plus years with a fortune 500 company, substitute teacher, student, and volunteer.

I have obtained a Bachelor' s Degree in Business Management, Master's Degree in Biblical Leadership Studies, and am pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Pastoral Community Counseling. I am a licensed minister and lay counselor. I received my certification to become a Life Coach from Dream Releaser Coaching as well as my certification as a Life Coach Trainer. The Core Competencies that I completed were: The Challenge of Losing Weight, Single Parenthood, Essential Components of Success and Thriving Though Difficult Relationships. I am a member of the International Coaching Federation.

I am now married to one who believe in living life to the fullest, Rev James L. Wilson.I have two biological children, Marnise and Marques Harris and two stepsons D'Andrea and Jared Wilson. I am a member of Cornerstone Community Church."

I grew up in LA and wanted to be a musician, but enrolled as a math major in college with an undeclared music minor. Music was my passion, but God had other plans. Immediately after graduating from college, I enlisted in the USAF and traveled for four years with the NORAD Jazz and Show Band. After finishing basic training, I married Laura, my college sweetheart, and we have been together for 43 years now.

I became a Christian about one-and-a-half years after enlisting. This was a major change for me. Up until then, I had given in to the culture of the Band-complaining and feeling miserable. Becoming a Christian changed all that! I went from being an unfulfilled person to one who enjoyed life.

Shortly before getting out of the service, I made a big decision to stay in Colorado and raise a family instead of pursuing music. This meant giving up my own dream to pursue God's plan for me instead. I worked in the trades, paperhanging and painting, as Laura and I started a family. In 1980, I became a staff member at our local church and in 1981 took over an existing church in Salida, Colorado. This was a time of great struggle. It seemed that no matter what I did, life seemed to be a dead end with little fruit or success. Interestingly, our kids remember being a happy family and having good times there. I believe that preachers' kids can turn out well and have good memories even during tough times. We've been blessed with four kids, three of them married, and nine grandkids. All the kids love God and are involved in local churches. In 1982 we pioneered a new church in southwest Denver, CO. This was a fruitful time with many saved and encouraging church growth.

In 1989, I felt called to assist in our home church in Colorado Springs and spent 10 years there as an Assistant and then Associate Pastor-again, enjoying helping others to succeed and be fruitful. In 1999 we moved to Fort Collins to pioneer a new church. In 2008, we merged our church with another one in Fort Collins and began to travel more. Laura and I participate in missions, both overseas and at home, helping foreign pastors, missionaries, and domestic pastors.

Looking back, I feel I have been life-coaching people all my adult years. Most of my life has been marked by helping people succeed. I chose Sam and Brenda Chand's "Dream Releaser Coaching" program to become a certified life coach. The tools I have acquired through Dream Releaser Coaching have given me the ability to help others even more.
